’The trust it has built with major industry players speaks volumes – I’m excited to help drive the next phase of growth with such a dynamic and talented team,’ says appointee

Insurtech Send Technology has appointed Laura Wathen as chief financial officer to support its international expansion.

In her new role, Wathen will lead Send’s financial operations by orchestrating investor relations and the capital strategy.

She will also implement a scalable financial infrastructure to underpin the firm’s continued international expansion.

Wathen makes the move from her position as chief financial officer at fintech platform Funding Xchange, which she held for nearly two years.

Andy Moss, co-founder and chief executive at Send, said: “Wathen’s impressive expertise in financial leadership is precisely what Send needs at this crucial stage in our growth.

”Wathen has proven experience in successfully leading a number of companies through investment rounds and her background as both an investor and operator gives her excellent insight into what investors are looking for in this fast-paced market.

”This is an exciting time for us and I’m really pleased that Wathen has joined to support us through this next phase.”

Experience

With over 18 years experience in the industry, Wathen has worked for a number of investment banking, venture capital and private equity firms before transitioning to operational finance roles.

She has held roles as an associate at Nomura, group finance director at TCC Group and chief financial officer at Leva Clinic.

Wathen said: ”Send has created a remarkable insurance platform, tackling complex challenges faced by commercial and specialty carriers.

”The trust it has built with major industry players speaks volumes – I’m excited to help drive the next phase of growth with such a dynamic and talented team.”
