The new hire has previously held senior roles at Axa, WTW and AIG

Lloyd’s of London has hired Chubb’s regional executive officer Dawn Miller as its new commercial director, effective from quarter two of 2022.

In her new role, Miller will oversee Lloyd’s global network across the Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific and the Middle East. She will also be responsible for distribution, market development, global engagement with brokers and managing new market entrants.

She will additionally have oversight of innovation at Lloyd’s, including its Lloyd’s Lab programme.

Based in London, Miller will report to Patrick Tiernan, chief of markets at Lloyd’s.

Tiernan said: “I am delighted to welcome Miller to Lloyd’s and my senior management team.

”Miller has exceptional international experience and knowledge across a wide range of business areas, which will be critical in leading the commercial team at Lloyd’s.

“She has a deep understanding of how a true global ecosystem operates and will play an invaluable role in driving the Lloyd’s market forward to deliver our strategic priorities.”

Future at Lloyd’s

As regional executive officer at Chubb, Miller looked after Switzerland, Turkey, the Middle East and North Africa. She was also country president for Switzerland.

She has over 20 years of experience working in the global insurance industry, with expertise in underwriting, distribution, clients and strategy.

Her previous roles include president and chief executive of Axa, head of client engagement for Europe, Middle East and Africa at AIG and vice-president of trade credit and political risks at Willis Towers Watson.

Miller added: “Having spent time in various roles across several global marketplaces, I am delighted to join the world’s largest insurance marketplace in the role of commercial director.

Starting her career in Washington DC, Miller has taken on senior positions in London, New York, Paris, Dubai, San Francisco and Zurich.
