’Our members have access to 350 product lines and now place in excess of £10bn into the UK and Ireland market,’ says association’s chief executive

An upcoming Managing General Agents’ Association (MGAA) networking event will “showcase the strength of the MGA community” to brokers.

That was according to MGAA chief executive Mike Keating, who told Insurance Times that the association had amended the structure of its annual MGAA Broker Exchange event to prioritise face-to-face networking for both exhibiting MGAs and broker attendees.

The Broker Exchange, set to be held on 5 March 2024 at Etc Venues in St Paul’s, London, is the MGAA’s annual regional event and has landed in London this year, before heading back out to the regions in 2025.

Keating said that this year’s iteration had already secured over 50 MGA exhibitors from the MGAA’s membership and expected over 100 to be confirmed before the event, allowing brokers to engage directly with ”the impressive product breadth and capability of MGAs to deliver for their customers”.

He added: ”90% of our members deal with the broker community and brokers are the heartbeat of all of our members.

“MGAs continue to expand distribution through excellent service, fantastic products, underwriting expertise and access to decision makers and this event will support that expansion.”

Broker focus

The MGAA event is free to attend for brokers, with information around MGA exhibitors set to be released closer to the time.

The half-day event will start with a breakfast and will take the form of an uninterrupted, networking-focused exhibition that will close with a drinks reception following lunch.

Keating added: ”The UK and Ireland broker community, who are quite rightly always looking out for the right markets for their customers, will be pleasantly surprised at the diversity of products – our members have access to 350 product lines and now place in excess of £10bn into the UK and Ireland market.

“This event is a huge, flagship part of what we do and this event underpins the strength of the MGA community.”
