’Securing Lloyd’s capacity represents a major milestone for our FI proposition,’ says managing director

Amiga Specialty has secured Lloyd’s capacity to support its financial institutions (FI) proposition.

The facility will expand the London-based MGA’s reach and risk appetite and enables the FI team to build a geographically diverse portfolio spanning established financial centres and emerging markets, backed by Lloyd’s global licensing infrastructure.

Amiga’s FI proposition offers tailored products for asset managers, investment firms, funds, banks and fintech companies. The business is led by Jamie Ricketts, managing director for FI.

Ricketts said: “Securing Lloyd’s capacity represents a major milestone for our FI proposition.

”It enhances our ability to underwrite a broad spectrum of financial risks while achieving genuine geographic diversity. This facility combines the strength of Lloyd’s with the agility and expertise of Amiga Specialty’s underwriting model.”

MGA launch

Amiga Specialty was founded by Adam Kembrooke, the former US chief executive at Nexus Underwriting, in June 2025.

It launched with the help of BP Marsh, which had subscribed for a 49% shareholding in the MGA.

Speaking about securing more capacity, Kembrooke said: “Our Lloyd’s-backed FI facility expands Amiga’s international footprint and strengthens our specialty capabilities across key markets.

“It reflects our strategy of building around experienced leaders who deliver underwriting excellence, sustainable growth and meaningful capacity to brokers and clients.”
