’Their specialist knowledge perfectly complements our existing capability,’ says chief executive

Seventeen Group has acquired Citrus Healthcare and Smith England Insurance Brokers.

Kent-based Citrus Healthcare is a specialist private medical broker established in 2010 by Richard and Claire Bamford.

Meanwhile, Cheadle-based Smith England, led by Nigel Smith, focuses on corporate clients that favour a risk management led proposition.

Combined, these businesses add £12m in gross written premium (GWP) to the group.

Plans for growth

Both firms will join James Hallam, Seventeen Group’s UK retail division.

Oliver Thorne, Seventeen Group chief executive, said: “We are thrilled to welcome the Citrus and Smith England teams to our business.

”Their specialist knowledge perfectly complements our existing capability, adding distribution and expertise to our group. In return, we provide support, investment and operational expertise to the leadership teams, enabling them to maintain their entrepreneurial spirit and achieve their long-term growth aspirations.”
