’The team at Partners& has been welcoming, efficient and highly professional from the outset,’ say founders
Partners& has acquired Newcastle-under-Lyme broker Amica Insurance.

Amica is a commercial and personal lines specialist with a team of 10 qualified insurance professionals. It was founded in 2020 by Tom Barnett and Matthew Merriman.
The duo decided to partner with Partners& to get support in providing more services to their existing clients.
‘Not viewed as a transaction’
Phil Barton, Partners& group chief executive, said: “I was immediately impressed with the knowledge Barnett, Merriman and the team had about their clients.

”Like us, they didn’t view the insurance journey as a transaction. They demonstrated a real care and attention to create a positive client experience – and that stood out. At a time when clients need good advice more than ever, our aim is to cultivate client focused talent – people who are committed to delivering that little bit extra for clients. I’m thrilled they are part of the team.”
Amica’s founders added: ”After our initial meeting with Barton and Simon Haynes [chief financial officer], the strength of our shared vision and business synergies was immediately clear and consistently reinforced throughout the process. Both firms are committed to making a meaningful impact in the insurance broking market, with a strong focus on delivering the best outcomes for clients and insurer partners.
”The team at Partners& has been welcoming, efficient and highly professional from the outset and we are delighted to be joining forces. Our team is excited about the opportunities ahead and the future we will build together.”
