’We are now able to realise our growth ambitions,’ says chief executive

Specialist marine managing general agent (MGA) Amphitrite Underwriting London has received full approval from the FCA.

The authorisation came into effect from 31 January 2024, a statement released yesterday (26 February 2024) said.

This came following six years of Tysers acting as the MGA’s regulatory principal, supporting the business through its growth since 2018.

Amphitrite said getting FCA authorisation marked a “pivotal moment in our journey, opening up new avenues for growth and opportunity”.

“We are now fully equipped to continue our commitment to excellence, transparency and innovation,” it added.

Approval

When a firm becomes FCA approved, its information appears on the financial services register.

This is a public record that holds all the details of companies, individuals and other bodies that are or have previously been regulated by the FCA.

Konstantinos Tampakakis, chief executive of Amphitrite, said: “Securing FCA approval is a testament to the excellence and professionalism of the team.

“We are now able to realise our growth ambitions and further capitalise on the opportunities in the specialist marine market. Tysers has proven a valuable and stable partner and I would like to thank them for their continued regulatory support and for all their efforts in securing our success.”
