‘The playing field is changing quickly and I look forward to seeing where we can take the business,’ says new appointee
Specialist MGA incubator OneAdvent has appointed Sebastian Basso as its new chief digital officer in a move designed to “drive digital innovation”.

OneAdvent’s platform provides new MGAs with digital infrastructure, compliance and business oversight and capacity sourcing, and has helped launch or scale firms including Modus Underwriting, Vento and Criterion.
The firm said that Basso – who joins recently hired chief technology officer Kristian Feldborg – will “bring the expertise needed to accelerate the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI”, and will be asked to “enhance its capabilities and deliver better service to clients”.
Basso’s 10 years of digital leadership experience include time spent as chief operating officer and chief product officer at insurtech Kinsu, as well as head of strategy development and product innovation at Yell.
New opportunities
Tim Quayle, chief executive at OneAdvent, said: “We got to know Basso when he was part of a stellar team sheet who launched a personal lines MGA on our platform, during the insurtech wave.

“We’ve stayed in touch ever since and I’m really excited that he has agreed to join us to drive our own technology strategy and unlock new opportunities across the delegated authority market.”
The new appointee added: “I’m thrilled to be joining OneAdvent and helping shape its digital future. OneAdvent is still a relatively small and agile business in an industry full of behemoths.
“This gives us a huge opportunity to gain a competitive edge by harnessing technology across the business in ways that improve how we operate and make decisions. The playing field is changing quickly and I look forward to seeing where we can take the business.”
