The accused siphoned off claims payments into his own account, court heard

A 36-year-old household claims handler has admitted defrauding Tesco Underwriting to the tune of £136,000.

Damien McMenzie of Dudley, Northumberland, pleaded guilty at Newcastle Crown Court yesterday for submitting false insurance claims against his employer between March 2015 and July 2019, the Chronicle Live reported.

The court found that he “abused his position as a household claims handler by authorising payments to his own account”.
