Insurance Times rounds up the biggest moves and promotions from 28 April to 2 May

Starting off the week, Aviva announced that its UK and Ireland chief claims officer Waseem Malik had left the insurer.

Malik will be succeeded by Steve Bridger, who will take on his new role with immediate effect.

Then, Ignite Insurance System founder and chief executive Toby MacLachlan departed the business after nearly a decade in charge.

MacLachlan founded the firm in 2011 as broker Wanna Insure, although rebranded and relaunched the business as Ignite in 2015.

Following this, Hiscox appointed Phil Withey as the new chief technology officer for its London market division.

In his new role, Withey will be based in London and take responsiblity for shaping the insurer’s London market technology strategy.

After that, Simply Business appointed Jodi Cartwright as its new UK chief commercial officer.

In her new role, Cartwright will have responsibility for leading the digital broker’s commercial function and be focused on building partnerships, products and propositions.

Rounding off the week, Tokio Marine HCC International (TMHCCI) appointed Thibaud Hervy as its new chief executive and Simon Button as its new chief underwriting officer.

The leadership reshuffle follows the transition of Barry Cook, who has served as chief executive at TMHCCI for over 20 years, to deputy chief executive of the wider Tokio Marine HCC (TMHCC) group.
