Succeeding Benoit Hudon in the role, Parkinson will lead the strategic development and execution of the Mercer UK commercial strategy, which encompasses its health and benefits, investments and retirement and workforce and rewards businesses.

Moving onto an insurer appointment, the week saw Markel name Phil Jones as its new international chief information officer.

Jones joined from Aspen Insurance where he had served as the firm’s global chief information officer.

Next up is another technology leader appointment, with Leyla Delic joining Axa XL this week as its new chief technology and artificial intelligence officer.

Over the course of her career, Delic has served as group chief information and digital officer at Coca-Cola Içecek and global head of value realisation at Aon.

Meanwhile, Nexus Underwriting revealed that it had appointed Walid Youssef as unit head of UK financial institutions.

He will be responsible for managing the MGA’s UK financial institutions portfolio and driving the line’s strategy.

Finally, risk partner Oak Global appointed Kaylee Darkins as its chief people and communications officer.

Darkins will be based in London and report directly to Oak Global’s founder and chief executive Cathal Carr, who said that “Darkins’ leadership will further strengthen the inclusive, values-driven and high-performance environment [the business is] building – one that attracts exceptional people and delivers value for our clients and investors.”
