Insurance Times rounds up the most significant appointments, hires and leadership developments from 3 to 7 August 2026
Among this week’s biggest people moves was Verlingue London Markets appointing Scott Mills as its new commercial development lead.

Mills will support the development of the firm’s propositions across scheme and delegated authority business, as well as motor trade, property and casualty and motor fleet lines.
In insurer news, Intact Insurance appointed Fraser Edmond as vice president for commercial sales, distribution and marketing.
The newly created role forms part of the insurer’s growing focus on commercial trading and will see Edmond report to commercial lines managing director Tovah Grosscurth.
Then, Markel Insurance appointed Doan Nguyen as managing director of its speciality division in London.
In her new role, Nguyen will oversee the strategic direction of the insurer’s London speciality business, supporting growth across trade credit, political risk and surety (TCPRS), equine and livestock, international casualty, structured portfolio solutions and political violence and terror.
Finally, Angelica Solutions expanded its network of insurance specialists with the appointment of pricing expert Amy Illingworth.
Illingworth joins the consultancy’s collaborator network, bringing more than 15 years’ experience across insurers, MGAs, insurtechs and high-growth businesses.
