Insurance Times rounds up the most significant appointments, hires and leadership developments from 20 to 24 July 2026
This week’s biggest moves kicked off with Ecclesiastical Insurance announcing several senior leadership appointments within its UK general insurance business.
Meanwhile, independent insurance collective Drive Further appointed Rob Crashley as its new head of business development.
The collective – which operates an end-to-end motor protection service through its partnership with Financial and Legal Insurance, MSL, Supportis, Magnus Insurance Services and Dualdrive – said Crashley will hold the position across its Financial and Legal and MSL firms.
Next, the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) board appointed Jenny Simmonds as its new chief executive and James Dipple-Johnstone as chief ombudsman.
Initially taking up their roles on an interim basis in February 2025, both appointees have led the service through a significant period of change, working together with the government and FCA to develop and deliver a series of reforms to the UK’s redress system.
Then, specialty insurer Atrium appointed Chris Baker as head of specialty reinsurance.
Baker will join Atrium in 2027 from Chaucer to develop the insurer’s specialty reinsurance portfolio in line with its five-year transformation strategy.
Finally, Acrisure UK appointed Lou Brown to lead the development of the firm’s new Acrisure Risk Management Services division.
The new arm will focus on practical, operational risk areas including people and liability risk, property, motor, claims defensibility and strategic risk.
