Nigel Hanbury and Barbara Merry are going head to head to win a seat on the Lloyd's governing council today.

More than 1,200 people will be voting for the person they want to replace Stephen Catlin, head of Catlin group, and represent the category of working members on the council.

Hanbury, chief executive of Hampden, said he is seeking to preserve the maximum role and value for individual names.

Merry is a non-underwriting working member. She has pledged to make Lloyd's “more attractive for brokers than any other platform for insurers.”
