George Berrie has stood down from his position as intermediary business director of Norwich Union's General Insurance (NUGI) division after just nine months in the job.

NU said the move was for "personal reasons".

Berrie will return to his old role of regional business director (North) and has been replaced by John Kitson, formerly consumer director.

David McMillan, who was partnerships director, steps into Kitson's role, while McMillan's previous post is to be filled by Angela Seymour-Jackson, formerly director of banks.

Mark Hodges, NUGI managing director, said: "We are very fortunate to have an excellent team of experienced senior managers with the skills and flexibility to fill these key posts."

Meanwhile, NU confirmed there were likely to be some redundancies following a re-structure of the insurer's support functions including IT, properties and facilities management.

The re-structure is designed to eliminate duplication following the merger of NU with RAC in May 2005.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
