Cox Insurance has teamed up with car manufacturer Peugeot in a new internet venture.

An on-line insurance service, resourced by sophisticated internet technology developed by Cox, can be accessed from Peugeot's own web site page on www.Peugeot.co.uk.

Only the minimum information is required and an immediate motor insurance quotation can be obtained by answering six questions.

There is also an option to select cover with or without protected no claims bonus.

Once a provisional quotation has been calculated, customers can obtain immediate cover with the facility and pay for it securely on-line with a credit/debit card by instalments.

Cox Insurance Retail Division chief executive Neil Utley said: "Following the joint venture announcement with Freeserve in December, this is a further example of Cox's corporate internet strategy and demonstrates the added value it can bring to its affinity partners."

Peugeot is the third largest car manufacturer in the UK. It sold 180,000 vehicles last year and has 1.5m customers.

Henry Holleran, Peugeot's director of sales, said: "The Peugeot owner services site is an integral component of our marketing strategy."
