Freaks need cover too.

The summer wouldn’t be the same without the annual freak show that is Big Brother. And as the collection of wannabe celebrities and attention-seekers get stuck into three months of back-biting, Aon has a timely warning for producers of reality TV shows seeking insurance cover.

Jonathan Upshall, broking director at Aon, tells Lloyd’s.com: “From a legal liability perspective, the production company will have to demonstrate that it has properly identified everything known about an individual to mitigate any potential risks.

“Working closely with members of the public can be very unpredictable. The companies involved will have to make sure that they have covered all perspectives from a risk management point of view.”

Judging by this year’s contestants predictable seems to be one thing they are not.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
