Provident Insurance and Zurich have agreed a three-year customer insurance contract with GM UK.

Under the contract, which starts from 1 January, Provident and Zurich will provide GM’s Saab, Chevrolet, Cadillac and Hummer brands with a customer insurance programme in mainland UK.

Andy Robson, GM UK marketing programmes manager, said: “Provident Insurance, in combination with Zurich Financial Services, offered a strong proposition for us. We needed a partner with a strong understanding of our changing customers’ needs for competitive insurance offerings.”

Mark Thomson, Provident Insurance’s business development director, added: “We are delighted that GM selected Provident Insurance to offer its customers a branded insurance offering. We believe that by working in partnership with Zurich Financial Services, together we can grow the existing offering through competitive premiums, improved service and innovation.”

Provident Insurance said the deal fits with its growth strategy of increasing its workforce by 25% in the coming months.
