Personal Touch Insurance (PTI) has appointed Richard Garland to set up a specialist health care supermarket for intermediaries looking to do business in the health care and employee benefits market.
It said the health care supermarket was integral to PTI's strategy of having a network of high street financial services operations.
Garland will take the role of health care director at PTI. He joins the company from BUPA where he was a health care specialist.
Garland said the health care market presented an excellent opportunity for intermediaries looking to grow their business.
The company already works in association with more than 11,000 independent intermediaries, it said.
