QBE bringing together casualty international with professional and financial lines teams

QBE has merged its casualty international and professional and financial lines teams to form a new division lead by director David Harries.

Harries was most recently head of professional and financial lines at QBE. His new team will include:

  • David Fitzpatrick (regional head of casualty international Australia, Canada, South Africa, medical malpractice and pharmaceutical)
  • Alastair Herbert (regional head of casualty international Europe, Middle East, Latin America, Caribbean and Africa)
  • Jill Stewart (head of business development casualty international and professional and financial lines)
  • Grant Clemence (head of professional and financial lines).

QBE said Chris Bell will remain in the business as portfolio manager reporting to Fitzpatrick but supporting the management and focusing on its Australian account.

Harries said: ”Our new structure now makes it much easier for our clients to access our liability and professional indemnity products either on a standalone basis or as a package.

“Given that these two areas have multiple territories and sectors in common, it was a natural development to bring them together.”

The changes will take place on 27 February.
