Loss adjuster establishes Belfast operation

Business deal work handshake people

Loss adjuster QuestGates has swooped for another three former members of Merlin’s team on the same day the company set up a new office in Belfast.

Bob Mockridge joins to support and strengthen the technical expertise within the property division. He has almost 40 years’ adjusting experience and has held senior positions, including managing director, with a number of loss adjusting companies. He has extensive loss adjusting experience, particularly in complex and major loss, and has handled many multi-million pound losses throughout his career.

Nigel Watkinson joins QuestGates’ southern adjusting team. He was previously at Crawford’s, Cunningham Lindsey and most recently Merlin, as a technical adjuster, dealing with primarily commercial work, and as deputy branch manager.

Last month, QuestGates secured the services of Merlin’s Scotland team.

Following the establishment of its regional office in Scotland, QuestGates has also secured office premises in Belfast, and has recruited its resident property adjuster Ruairi O’Donghaile. He has 20 years’ claims experience and has been an adjuster since 1997. He will be reporting into QuestGates’s regional manager of Scotland and Ireland Kevin Scott.

QuestGates managing director Chris Hall said: “I am pleased to be able to announce these new recruits. While Merlin was predominantly a volume household adjuster, we have been very successful in securing a large proportion of its commercial and high value work. In particular we have been added to a number of its previous clients’ property and liability panels.

“Bob, Nigel and Ruairi are all highly experienced adjusters and will complement our existing technical expertise. Meanwhile, securing our latest office in Belfast strengthens our position there and means that QuestGates is represented across the length and breadth of the United Kingdom and is now strategically placed to represent clients in the Republic of Ireland.”
