SME TV ad in Ireland and construction campaign in UK

Quinn Insurance is targeting commercial lines according to press reports in Ireland and the UK

The Irish Times reports Quinn launched a new TV ad called Trees, a 60-second commercial with the strapline “Supporting Irish Business, Growing Irish Jobs”, during last Sunday’s All-Ireland Football Final.

The ad and will run for several months and is targeted at SME business customers who, according to research, don’t know much about the commercial arm of the Quinn Insurance business.

Mark Hogan of ad agency Owens DDB, which made the ad: “Our strategy is to focus on the diversity, success, longevity and history of the Quinn Group itself.”

Kevin Lunney, group development director at Quinn Group said: “We have over one million customers in Ireland and the majority of them do not have an appreciation of the scale and diversity of the Quinn Group or knowledge of the history of the group.”

Builders uninsured

The UK’s construction industry paper Contract Journal said Quinn research had shown that more than a third of all construction firms are working without sufficient insurance cover, after switching to new sectors in a bid to ride out the recession.

Of businesses that had diversified into new areas of business in order to survive, only three quarters knew if they will be covered by their existing insurance cover.

Richard Stafford, commercial director of Quinn Insurance, said: “We would advise any client to check their policy cover small print carefully before seeking to undertake a job outside of the business’ typical area of expertise. Equally, concerned construction companies should seek assistance from their insurance broker if they are unsure.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
