Mundane household items repeatedly stolen says Direct Line

Direct Line has found that burglars are stealing mundane household items in the recession.

In six months Direct Line reported the theft of:

  • 50 vacuum cleaners
  • 26 microwaves
  • 16 toasters
  • 15 kettles
  • 13 tumble dryers
  • 10 fridges
  • 6 dishwashers
  • 3 electric toothbrushes
  • 2 epilators
  • 1 beard trimmer.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
