Reinsurance Group of America has elected Stewart Nagler as its chairman. Nagler is a vice chairman and the chief financial officer of MetLife, which owns about 58% of Reinsurance Group's outstanding shares.

Nagler is a vice chairman and the chief financial officer of MetLife, which owns about 58% of Reinsurance Group's outstanding shares.
Nagler will succeed Richard Liddy, who will retire from the board in April.
The board also elected Joseph Reali, a senior vice president and tax director at MetLife, as a director. He succeeded John Tweedie, who stepped down from the board on 31 December 2001.
Reinsurance Group has nearly $616bn (£437bn) of insurance in force and $6.9bn (£4.9bn) of assets.
