Dr Stephen Sklaroff has been appointed the new deputy director general of the ABI and head of public and international affairs. He replaces Tony Baker from February 28.
Sklaroff, is currently a director in the DTI's Energy Group dealing with the nuclear industry.
He was previously head of communications at the DTI under three successive Secretaries of State.
Earlier in his career, he held posts in the Foreign Office and the Department of Energy.
