Richard Beaven to join broker from Lloyds Bank on 1 August

Business deal work handshake people

Swinton has hired Lloyds bank executive Richard Beaven as its new distribution director.

He will join the broker on 1 August.

Beaven will take on the responsibilities of operations director Kelly Ogley, who left Swinton on 30 June to pursue other opportunities.

But he is not a direct replacement, as his remit is wider.

Beaven will be a member of Swinton’s executive committee and have overall responsibility for how the broker interacts with customers through all channels, including branches, call centres and specialist units.

He was previously operations director of the insurance division at Lloyds Banking Group.

Swinton chief executive Gilles Normand said: “[Beaven] is an industry heavyweight and it is a measure of both the challenges ahead of us but also the fundamental strength and value of the Swinton franchise that he has decided to join Swinton.”

Beaven added: “I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead with Swinton.

“The insurance world is becoming ever more competitive and brokers are under increasing pressure to innovate, be efficient and deepen the customer experience to deliver a premium value proposition.

“I am looking forward to helping Swinton meet these challenges.”
