Firm also in negotiations with insurers to join its online panel

PowerPlace is aiming to boost its support staff to 30 by the start of next year.

The technology provider has recruited four support staff – who offer face-to-face technical help for brokers – since June, taking its team numbers up to 21.

PowerPlace is also in discussions with several insurers, including RSA, to join its online quote system for brokers operating the Open GI platform, Insurance Times understands.

PowerPlace has broken through the £1m gross written premium barrier per month and so far has LV=, NIG, Zurich, Groupama, Fortis, MMA Insurance and Towergate Underwriting on its panel.

An RSA spokesman said: “We are currently in discussions with a number of service providers as part of our ongoing e-business strategy.”

A Towergate spokesman said the interest from a number of insurers continued to increase. “They are at various stages of development. There will be announcements in the coming months.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
