Insurer adds dedicated US property claims service

Torus has strengthened its property services offering in the US through the appointment of Paul Lafferty as vice president, property claims manager, with immediate effect.

This follows the announcement last week of the parallel appointment of Charles Stauber as head of Torus’ US casualty claims.

Based in Torus’ New Jersey office, Lafferty is responsible for all US property claims services. He has joined Torus from Starr Technical Risks Agency where he was most recently executive general adjuster.

Rob Powell, Torus’ head of claims, said: “I am delighted that Paul has chosen to join Torus. Investing in the best technical people is key to our ability to deliver excellence in our claims service and demonstrates our willingness and capability to provide leadership in the market and transparency and certainty for our clients.

"As evidenced by this appointment and the recent arrival of Charles Stauber to the head of casualty claims role, we believe in providing all involved parties with the best possible service from underwriting through to payment of all valid claims and in having the highest quality claims team in place to fulfil these obligations.”
