Royal & Sunalliance (RSA) has relaunched its Underwriting College, which is to be renamed the Insurance College, and will offer a wider range of training courses for staff.

UK commercial staff will be offered courses in claims, business development and risk management, which will run alongside the well established underwriting course.

Fiona Andrews, dean of the new Insurance College, said: “Broadening the range of courses seemed a natural but vital progression for both the college and its students.

“Acknowledging and embracing the training needs of your staff is vital to any business, and RSA has heavily invested in ensuring that everyone, regardless of position, receives rounded and well structured technical training.”

The training programme, named “Recognising Brilliance”, uses a number of teaching tools, including CD-Roms, Intranet discussion forums and online workbooks, as well as site visits, workshops, residential events and seminars. Course content will be frequently reviewed and updated.
