The approaching ski season has encouraged the Travel Insurance Club to launch a new winter sports policy.
The travel policy has the attraction of covering a number of potentially dangerous snowbound sports that are usually off-limits to other insurers. Off-piste and cross country skiing, snowboarding, bobsleighing and tobogganing are however, covered under the policy's protective cover.
Specific cover for loss or delay of ski equipment is another feature of the full-package policy.
And it has the appeal of one of the lowest policy excesses of any travel policy at just £20. Premiums start at £18 for a five-day European trip and £34 for the same period in the United States, prices include IPT.
The Travel Insurance Club has been judged "highly commended" as a travel insurer in 1998 and 1999 by Your Money Direct magazine.
