Axa and CGNU staff are unlikely to bat an eyelid when their boss turns up for work dressed in his pyjamas or a shell suit on July 7.

Unconventional dress will not be out of place at these top insurers on that date as staff take part in National Wrong Trousers Day.

Inspired by the frolics of the famous oscar-winning animation characters Wallace and Gromit, in their film The Wrong Trousers, the alternative trouser wear day is being organised to raise money for children's charities.

Also taking part in the event is former Monty Python star, comedian Michael Palin and champion boxer Prince Nazeem Hamed – who will no doubt be wearing the wrong shorts.

Full details on the event are available from telephone number: 0800 169 4928 or on the internet at the website www.wrongtrousersday.bt.co.uk.
