Former UBS president Luqman Arnold could replace Lukas Mühlemann as chief executive of Credit Suisse, the Financial Times reported today.

Arnold is apparently viewed as the chief executive of choice for Hans-Jörg Rudloff, currently chairman of Barclays Capital, if Rudloff becomes chairman of the group.

This would be controversial, however, as Mühlemann said last week he intends to continue as chief executive despite stepping down as chairman.
