Chasing paper
Insurance companies must dream of one day living in a paper-free environment where disposing of confidential waste becomes a thing of the past.
That day couldn’t come soon enough for one Manchester claims firm, which decided to stuff documents containing the personal data of insurance claimants into carrier bags because the office shredder was broken.
Alas, a gust of wind sent the paper flying everywhere. A manager was even seen chasing the paper down the street. When asked how it would fix the problem, the firm said: “We will get a bigger shredder.” Sorted!
