QBE is to launch its professional indemnity (PI) division, QBE PI, following the December 2006 announcement of its plans to integrate the professional indemnity portfolios of QBE Insurance (Europe) and DA Constable Syndicate 386.

Allianz Cornhill's IT launch
Allianz Cornhill implemented a new IT system which allows claims handlers to work in a paperless environment. The company said the Puma image and workflow system scans claims documents and stores the data on a system available to everyone involved in the claims handling process.

R&SA eyes Codan
Royal & SunAlliance (R&SA) is considering a move to buy out the minority shareholders in its Scandinavian business, Codan, in a deal worth an estimated $600m. Reports said R&SA was reviewing whether to buy out the remaining 28% stake.
