Wales-based broker Thomas Carroll Group has joined the Unitas alliance of regional brokers.

The addition of Thomas Carroll strengthens the alliance's presence in Wales and comes after the departure of Leicestershire-based broker Bland Bankart from the group on 1 January.

Unitas chief executive Les Jackson said the alliance is "keeping an open mind" about new members and is likely to restore its presence in the East Midlands before the end of 2003.

Jackson said: "Welcoming Thomas Carroll to membership is a real coup for us. We have some of the most successful independent brokers in the UK. We want to build on our market position."

Other members include Alec Finch, Perkins Slade, Bartholomew & James and Bruce Stevenson.
