Zurich Financial Services (ZFS) is to close its data centre in Swindon as part of a cost-cutting programme. The operations will move to the Switzerland centre.
ZFS said it hopes to gain "significant cost reductions" through the closure of the centre, which operates as a mainframe back-up for the company's UK operations. The company maintained it would be working with its employees on the plans, which is subject to regulatory approvals.
A Zurich statement said: "The consolidation of the two data centres and a similar project in the US are two of many strategic IT projects we started this year and that are expected to transform our IT functions over the coming years. Their successful completion will contribute to the cost-efficient delivery of IT services throughout the group."
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
