Kay Martin, John Dyke and Tony Emms take on key posts

Zurich’s UK general insurance arm, UKGI, has completed a shake-up of its executive team that has involved senior appointments in marketing, claims and finance.

Aviva marketing and communications director Kay Martin has joined as chief marketing officer and head of UKGI strategy.

Chief executive Stephen Lewis said: “Kay has a successful track record in delivering major programmes across a range of different distribution channels. Her depth of knowledge and experience are going to be a real asset for the organisation.”

John Dyke has been named chief finance officer and replaces Scott Egan, now group head of operations, planning and performance management in Zurich’s headquarters.

Motor claims director Tony Emms is Zurich’s new UK chief claims officer, replacing Bill Paton, who has become the chief claims officer for Zurich’s European claims organisation. Karl Helgesen will take up Emms’s previous role.

Lewis said: “To recruit such roles from within our business makes me proud, and I’m pleased to bring the skills of Tony Emms and John Dyke into the UK top team.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
