Claims management specialist Town and Country is to recruit 100 staff in Kent to handle motor claims on behalf of Saga.

The new staff will be based at Saga's operations centre based in Broadstairs.

Town and Country said a claims handler and customer executive recruitment programme was underway.

Town and Country customer services director Ian Arundel said: "We have already recruited an initial 25 staff locally to work in this high-tech operations centre."

Arundel added that Town and Country was looking to recruit a further 25 staff by March, and an extra 50 by the autumn.

It is estimated that the Broadstairs operation centre will handle in excess of 100,000 motor claims from Saga customers by the end of the year.
