Biography: Martin Long founded Churchill Insurance in 1989. Before setting up Churchill, Long was one of the original team that founded Direct Line Insurance.

Long is a career professional - he is a fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and has worked in the insurance industry for 36 years.

He began his career with Prudential, and by the age of 33 was managing director of Halifax Insurance Company.
