Loss adjusters Cunningham Lindsey, Capita, Questgates, GAB Robins and Crawford & Company all have teams on site at Boscastle, after torrential rains led to flash floods.
But GAB Robins said the number of claims from the flooding was expected to be low, albeit severe, due to the size of the village.
The Environment Agency said up to 100mm of rain fell in the Boscastle area between noon and 11.00pm on Monday, with the majority falling in an intense period of two hours.
However, experts have questioned why the first flood warning was only available at 16.10.
A three-metre high wave of water left six buildings damaged and swept 50 cars out to sea when the river Valancy burst its banks.
Norwich Union said it had asked the loss adjusters on site to make contact with its policyholders to offer assistance.
Allianz Cornhill said it had already settled a motor claim caused by the flooding.
