Home insurance customers will now be able to support a chairty when purchasing a policy

Eco insurance brand ibuyeco has expanded its home insurance panel with insurers Legal & General and Ageas.

The new partnerships form part of a wider panel expansion program to drive up customer numbers through more competitive pricing.

ibuyeco launched its home insurance product in 2009 and has already demonstrated significant growth.

On purchasing any ibuyeco policy, the customer is given the option of selecting a charity to which ibuyeco will make up to a £5 donation. The brand currently has agreements in place with The Woodland Trust, Borneo Orangutan Survival and The Converging World. To date, over £400,000 has been donated.

Gary Pickering, sales and marketing director for Legal & General’s general insurance business, said: “We have an established and very successful relationship with the BGL Group and, as we believe that eco issues and support for charities are becoming increasingly important to many people, joining the ibuyeco panel is an exciting development.

“Customers now have the opportunity to make charitable donations, while arranging valuable household insurance cover,” Pickering added.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
