AIRMIC (Association of Insurance and Risk Managers) members have formed a Business Continuity Planning (BCP) special interest group in the wake of September 11.
The group was formulated by AIRMIC council member Nick Chown who has gathered like-minded AIRMIC members to form the special interest group.
It will cover a selection of industries and organisations within the commercial, voluntary and public sectors.
Chown said the group will ensure AIRMIC makes a full contribution to the continuing development of business continuity planning, which is a "key element" of business risk management.
"Given the importance to business risk managers of ensuring business continuity, it seems entirely appropriate that AIRMIC should set up a special interest group to cater for this key risk area," he said.
The group's findings and advice will be collated and made available to AIRMIC members.
