Agreement worth £10m of annual GWP

Managing director intermediary Matthew Reed

AXA Commercial Lines and Personal Intermediary has agreed to an exclusive motor trade deal with Aston Scott.

The agreement is worth £10m in annual gross written premium (GWP) and will see AXA underwrite all of Aston Scott’s Roadrunner and Motor Trade Solutions brands. AXA said the new deal would increase the amount of business done with Aston Scott to £15m.

AXA’s commercial intermediary managing director Matthew Reed (pictured) said: “This is a significant deal and I am delighted that we will be extending our relationship with Aston Scott. We’ve built up a healthy and mutually rewarding partnership over the years. They represent exactly the type of strong, regional broker that we are eager to do business with. They are a great outfit and have the expertise and experience in this sector that we need to help satisfy our underwriting appetite in this area. There are also some obvious cross-selling opportunities that both parties are looking at and I am confident that our relationship will only grow from here.”

Aston Scott chairman and chief executive Andrew Scott said: “Aston Scott has enjoyed a long and mutually rewarding relationship with AXA for many years and is delighted to be working with such a forward thinking and highly professional insurer in relation to this business. AXA are of course well known for their strength and market presence and we strongly believe that this is a positive step for our respective businesses and of course for our clients and supporting brokers.”
