Oh deer, oh deer, as a nation of animal lovers it's rather disheartening to learn that deer result in more insurance claims than any other creature.

A recent survey carried out by online insurance broker www.motorinsurance.co.uk revealed that deer accounted for nearly half of 119 accidents involving animals.

Foxes fared slightly better, accounting for nearly 11% of all animal accidents. Badgers were hit by 8% of drivers and pheasants accounted for 6% - clearly the ones who were too plump to fly away!

Strangely enough hedgehogs were not on the list - maybe motorists are more concerned about a flat tyre than a damaged bumper.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
