Camberford Law has developed a new legal expenses range underwritten by Groupama.

The commercial schemes broker's Intellectual Property Rights insurance cover incorporates worldwide protection against the infringement of trademarks, copyright, patents or designs.

Lord Sheikh, chief executive of Camberford Law, commented: “With this new scheme we can tick all the boxes and we are hopeful of great things. We already have a strong relationship with Groupama who have significant experience of managing and developing niche schemes such as this. They also have the financial strength that clients want and need; and the proven ability to handle claims with the expertise necessary for such a specialist class of business.”

Cathie Bruce, distribution and customer service director at Groupama, said: “A company's brand or the patents or designs it owns are crucially important business assets that need protection against infringement. We see this as a growing area, particularly with the increasing risks posed by Internet trading and the ease with which things can be duplicated in the e-world to allow passing off. We are really pleased to e working with Camberford Law on this new scheme. Their specialist development expertise is a great match for our technical underwriting abilities.”
