International medical rescue company CEGA has secured a landmark high court judgment to stop a software supplier marketing to competitors a bespoke program which it and CEGA created exclusively for the latter's operations.
CEGA, based in Goodwood, won the judgment against Worthing Computer Systems. An interim order for costs has been awarded against Worthing Computer Systems and full damages are currently being assessed by the court.
The judgment resulted primarily from CEGA's direct involvement in developing the program and from its provision of information, without which the program could not have worked, thereby creating joint copyright.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
