Robert Deutsch has become a non-executive director of Chaucer Holdings.

His appointment follows the completion of Chaucer's acquisition of CNA Corporate Capital and CNA's acquisition of a 9.1% interest in the ordinary share capital of Chaucer last December.

The 42-year-old became executive vice president and chief financial officer of Chicago-based CNA Financial Corporation and its insurance companies in September 1999.

Prior to joining CNA, Deutsch was an executive vice president, chief financial officer and chief actuary for specialty insurer Executive Risk Inc.

He was also assistant vice president of Swiss Re America and senior manager with Ernst & Young. He is a fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, an associate of the Society of Actuaries, and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
