The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has granted honorary fellowship to seven individuals for "outstanding contribution" to insurance and financial services industry.

Fellowship is the highest professional status that the CII can confer and in the past decade the CII has only used the facility to award honorary fellowships on one previous occasion.

CII President Peter Hales said: “All of those nominated for this award are recognised and respected industry leaders or leading experts and authorities in their chosen field. Between them they have all demonstrated their commitment to the CII's vision of raising professionalism and enhancing consumer confidence in the financial services industry.”

The seven new Honorary Fellows are:

  • Lord Levene of Portsoken KBE – chairman, Lloyd's

  • Sir David Prosser – Former group chief executive, Legal & General

  • Ken Davy – chairman, Simply Biz Services

  • Fay Goddard – deputy director general, AIFA

  • Stewart Ritchie OBE – director (Pensions Development), Scottish Equitable

  • Keith Satchell – group chief executive, Friends Provident & chairman, ABI

  • Chris Woodburn – former chief executive, General Insurance Standards Council.

  • The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

    Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
