Cunningham Lindsey has made nine redundancies in its special investigations division.

Special investigations director Mike Boon said the lay-offs were due to a decrease in the amount of claims being referred to special investigators.

"Insurers are reporting lower property claim numbers and as a result there is a lower number of claims needing special investigation," Boon said.

Nine special investigators will be made redundant, and other special investigations staff will be relocated to the adjuster's 46-strong property investigations team.

"This is a sensible management of our resources and costs," Boon said.

Earlier this month, Capita made redundant five of its 20-strong investigationteam.
