An online insurer this week slashed the cost of travel insurance by 20%.

The move by GoSure.com, a subsidiary of Columbus Financial Services, coincides with a link with Inspop.com, an insurance portal due to launch this week.

GoSure.com managing director Bryan Warburon said: “[Inspop] will enhance an already very competitive market, so it is vital to ensure that we are the cheapest and best quality service on offer.”

The company claims the move means its policies cost a fifth of those sold by its high street rivals, and around £20 less than its closest competitors.

GoSure.com sells travel policies from composite insurer CGNU.
